His specialised knowledge and experience of East Timor was acquired during 5 years of living and working in East Timor from 2000-2004 for the United Nations (UNTAET Land Rights Adviser), The Asia Foundation (Project Manager)and the University of San Francisco School of Law (Program Manager).
